...which means Happy New Year! We will be bringing in the year of the rat tomorrow so I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone who reads this blog a happy new year!
We were invited to join our International Adoptive Family Association for a potluck New Years celebration, but it would have been too late for the girls to stay up. Maybe we'll attend next year. Instead we will be celebrating Chinese New Year at our house! I will try my best to cook something "similar" to Chinese food and we will be giving the girls red envelopes with money in them to celebrate the holiday! I think the envelopes are called "lee see" or lucky money envelopes. It should be fun to celebrate something new to us! It's a great way to learn about this fascinating culture while we wait for our baby girl! ....and waiting we still are. That's why I haven't posted anything in a while. There's no new developments to report other than I still think things will speed up after the Olympics in Beijing in August. Who knows...anything could happen! We'll keep you all posted!
If you want to check out something really cute, click on the "chinese starfish" link on the side of this blog page. The workers at this foster home in China like to dress up the babies for each new year. Last year the babies were dressed up as little piggies and I think this year they are going to be little mice. I can't wait to see the pictures myself!
Gung Hey Fat Choy from our house to yours!!!
